Ear lobe treatment explained
Our experts here at our Central London clinic can help transform your appearance through science-backed, medical-grade treatments with real, proven results. We can treat almost any area of the body, including ear lobes, to help harmonise your features and bring balance to your face.
Causes
If your ear lobes appear saggy, it could be for a number of reasons. Firstly, ageing can cause our skin to become thinner and for fat to lose volume over time. Secondly, when it comes to your delicate ears, years of wearing heavy jewellery may have pulled on the ear lobes and can lead to sagging, or the piercing hole may appear enlarged. If untreated, the piercing hole may also tear, causing a ‘cleft’ ear lobe.
Treatment
Addressing loss of volume is often a case for dermal fillers, injections of hyaluronic acid that work to plump the treated area and create a more desirable shape. This technique can also help to lift and sculpt, which could effectively ‘shrink’ the size of the piercing hole.
If your jewellery is pulling on your ears, switch to studs, which can put less pressure on the area, or take a break from wearing earrings for a time. However, these tricks only prevent the problem from getting worse, because unfortunately, once the piercing site or ear lobe has been stretched, there’s no home remedy you can try to reverse it. That’s why we recommend getting in touch with our clinic to arrange a dermal fillers consultation.
