Unwanted Hair

Unwanted hair treatment explained

Anyone, regardless of their age or gender, can have unwanted hair anywhere on the body. Our experts here at Adonia Medical Clinic can help restore smooth, sleek skin once again.

Causes

Unwanted hair can grow almost anywhere on the body. The quantity, thickness and general appearance of your hair is generally down to genetics, with some predisposed to more hair than others. In other cases, it can be a case of hormones. Whatever the situation, we can help you take control of it.

Treatment

Hair can fall into two categories: vellus hair (known as ‘peach fuzz’), which tends to grown on areas such as the face and is fine and soft; and terminal hair, which is thicker, and tends to grown on areas such as the arms and legs.

While at-home treatments, such as waxing or shaving, might offer a quick-fix, they don’t offer a permanent solution. That’s why an in-clinic procedure can help – saving you time, money and hassle all in one. Our recommendation is laser hair removal, which is safe and effective. After several sessions, you should be able to target the majority, if not all, of the hair (which grows in cycles) to leave skin looking smooth. Other options include electrolysis which is a permanent form of hair loss and particularly useful for white and blonde hairs. If there are less than 50 hairs in an area we may recommend electrolysis if there are more than 50 hairs then laser may be recommended.
