1. How can dermaplaning help me?

   Dermaplaning improves signs of ageing, targets everyday dullness and dryness, and can target signs of acne scarring and breakouts.

2. What happens during an appointment?

   Skin is cleansed first and dried, to prepare for treatment. A scalpel-like device is passed over the skin to gently skim away old, dead skin cellus vellus hair that can cause your skin to look dull or uneven. By doing this, it brings newer, fresher skin cells to the surface.

   Walks-in appointments may be possible if you haven’t had waxes or actives on the skin for 72 hours and have no cuts or wounds on the face.

3. How long does it take?

   In most cases, 15-30 minutes is all the treatment takes. However, we often recommend dermaplaning as part of our Cleopatra Facial, which also uses hydrofacial, chemical peel, eye hydrating mask and LED treatments to optimise your skin.

4. How long do the results last?

   Results are immediate which an improvement over the following days and last for around 3 weeks.

5. Will I need repeat treatments?

   Yes, this is always recommended to prolong results. We’d expect repeat sessions to be needed every few weeks, which can be discussed with you during your consultation.

6. Are there any risks related to dermaplaning?

   You may experience mild redness after the first few sessions, which will subside. Sometimes, dryness or peeling is experienced, but this often clears within a couple of hours following your treatment.

7. What is the recovery time?

   There’s minimal to no recovery time needed – you’ll be able to carry on with your normal activities, including work, after your treatment.

8. What will my results look like?

   Most patients enjoy brighter, smoother and more even skin.

9. How do I care for my skin afterwards?

   A post-treatment cleanser is recommended twice-daily, as well as a serum or treatment cream, and SPF 30+ protection should be worn daily on the skin. Finally, heat and tanning treatments should be avoided, and you should take care with exercise until any redness has faded.
